South Indian cuisine is rice based. Rice is combines with different kinds of dals to dosas, idlis and uttapams. The all time scrumptious accompaniment, the VADA is made from one variety or combining one or more varieties of dals.

Vegetable stew (500 ml) - Veg Mixed vegetables cooked in coconut milk and mildly flavoured with spices... goes well with appam and idiyappam.
Dahi vada (6 pieces) - Veg Pre soaked is dal fried and topped with beaten yogurt with dash of red and green chutneys
